Taken to the kidnapper's home, she is repeatedly raped and assaulted and faces certain death. On the night she plans on taking her own life, a 17-year-old girl is kidnapped and finds herself fighting to stay. That is until one night when cycling home, she is abducted off the street. Trapped in her abusive home, Lisa's only respite was working in a donut shop. And if Lisa thought she had escaped that life, then she was very wrong. Her sister lived with their mother, an entirely hideous woman who should be in prison. At 17-years-old she was living with her grandmother and her partner. She gets released, but when she returns home, no one believes her story except for one detective. As the lives of young girls go, Lisa McVey was dealt an awful hand. On the night she plans on taking her own life, a 17-year-old girl is kidnapped and finds herself fighting to stay alive. I don't want to give too much away about the movie so I'll say this. ![]() Currently airing on Netflix, this is a remarkable true story but one that will have you horrified within minutes of it starting. She manages to talk her attacker into releasing her, but when she returns home, no one believes her story except for one detective, who suspects she was abducted by a serial killer. We've all seen the various dramas based on real-life stories, but few will send you on a rollercoaster of emotions quite like Believe Me: The Abduction of Lisa McVey. On the night she plans on taking her own life, 17-year-old 'Lisa McVey' is kidnapped and finds herself fighting to stay alive and manages to be a victim of rape.
