You may also lock to a public bike rack, signpost, light pole, or retired parking meter within the service area for 1. Going to pay this fee and never leave a Divvy bike unattended again. Ebike parking is free at Divvy stations and e-stations. They have elected to give me a one-time reduction of the fee from $1200 to $250 + tax. UPDATE (7/22/21): So customer service got lost and no bike was ever located or at least no one could tell me what the original representative told me. They also mentioned sending police to the location to find his ID and arrest him. Got my fingers crossed I get spared from the Divvy Gods for my idiocracy. They said I most likely will not be charged the fee if it matches up. UPDATE (7/15/21): Divvy Customer Service apparently located the bike and is sending a team to identify it and will send me a notification sometime today. I've read in other threads they can't really be sold or used in any other way and I was hoping Divvy had some sort of basic tracking on it.Īm I fucked or what? I still love the city but definitely a stupid price to pay for a dumb mistake. I am just kind of appalled considering I have no idea where the hell this bike can be. He only let me take a picture on my phone of a snap he took of the guy sitting in the dispensary so not sure how much help that is.ĭivvy responded saying they are courteously extending the period 5 days to 7/20 for me to "find and retrieve the bike". The dispensary manager said he was willing to show authorities the surveillance tapes showing the suspect stealing the bike and that the guy showed his ID when coming through the dispensary but he could only release that to authorities as well. I called Divvy Support immediately and let them know all the information as well as filing a police report with CPD but they didn't seem to care that there was surveillance and ability to ID the guy who took it. So I tell security and he leads me to the manager who finds the tape and sees that it's a guy he actually knows and has seen before but says he cannot release footage to me. I instantly realize the GPS is attached to me and not the bike and that it's gone. So I am out of the dispensary within ten minutes and the bike is gone and my heart drops. I left the bike unattended foolishly by the rear exit when you come out and thought nothing of it considering the entire parking lot was filled with surveillance cameras covering every corner and knew that I wouldn't be in there for very long picking up the order. I had a flight, so I decided to pick up a bag of edibles in River North if I'm being honest. ![]() ![]() I rented Divvy bikes on a daily basis for basically all transportation.Īnyways, today I rented a classic bike and rode it around downtown. I visited a month ago as my sister lives downtown now and LOVE Chicago. I spent two weeks in Chicago and just came back home tonight.
